NMGIC annually awards a scholarship worth up to $1000 to students in geographic information science who are attending institutions of higher education in New Mexico. The intent of the scholarship is to support student projects in geographic information science.
To be considered for the award, students must submit an application, a brief description of a project for which they intend to use the scholarship money, a detailed, itemized budget, resume, and two (2) letters of support to the NMGIC Scholarship Committee (see address below).
Students awarded the scholarship are required to present the their project's results at one of the regularly scheduled semi-annual NMGIC meetings.
The scholarship will be awarded to individuals in care of their academic department.
