Daily Duties: conversion of G.I.S. spatial data to various G.I.S software formats, projections, and scales, and verifies the converted data to assure locational accuracy and the transfer of attribute data; utilization of analytical techniques requiring technical and scientific knowledge; produces graphics of special purpose maps and G.I.S. statistics with a variety of software. Assists higher level G.I.S. personnel in managing G.I.S. data bases; coordinates use of filing conventions, libraries, and standard data base management procedures to insure standardized G.I.S. operation; monitors and assists in the implementation of new G.I.S. related computer technology including intranet/internet functions. Works with G.I.S. project requestors and G.I.S. users to assure project quality and timely completion; assists G.I.S. consultants in the performance of their contractual tasks when so directed by the G.I.S. manager utilizing ESRI’s ArcGIS desktop software suite, ArcView 3.2, ProCogo, and AutoCad.
